MU students to build house near Oxford

The Miami University Chapter of Habitat for Humanity will begin its new home building project in the fall in College Corner. Senior Brian Wellman, current president of the Miami chapter, called the project "a big undertaking." Incoming first-year students at Miami University will read "Beyond UFOs: The Search for Extraterrestrial Life and Its Astonishing Implications for Our Future" by Jeffrey Bennett for the 2008 summer reading program. Student groups volunteer for Interfaith Youth Service

The possibility of April snow showers did not dampen the spirits of the nearly 70 volunteers gathered Sunday afternoon for the Day of Interfaith Youth Service. The Day of Interfaith Youth Service (DIYS) is an annual international event started by The Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), a non-profit organization based in Chicago, and Interfaith Circle, a student organization, brought the event to Miami University's campus for the first time this year.… 5 Comments

The Miami University senate passed a motion 49-1 at Monday's meeting approving a Bachelor of Integrative Studies at the regional campuses. University releases review of controversial artwork

The Miami University Art Department reviewed and revised procedures after three students installed seven nooses and a tire swing as part of an art project in October 2007. In reviewing the department's procedures, dele jegede, chair of the School of Fine Arts, said the department found it failed in fully accounting for the October incident in its departmental protocol for such situations.… Post the First Comment

Sixteen Miami University sophomores in the interior design program traveled on March 28 to Mitchell's Salon and Day Spa in Northgate in the hopes of developing and designing their own innovative spa.
