New Asst. VP settles into MU

About a year after his predecessor left Miami University to work in Qatar, new Interim Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Mark Shanley has enjoyed his first month working with student organizations. Shanley, who was previously vice president for student affairs at Northern Kentucky University, was picked from a nationwide list of interim candidates for university student affairs positions two weeks before Miami announced it would decrease the number of administrative and faculty positions it would fill, effective until June 2009.… 2 Comments

Miami University's English department is hoping students will feed their minds instead of their bodies Tuesday night at Writer's Harvest, an event to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness in Oxford and surrounding communities. Miami University's Undergraduate Advising Information Center, which opened in August 2008, has seen an increase in usage by students during the October registration period, according to Kim Ernsting, coordinator of advising information.
