Uptown will be welcoming back to the stage the band Ingram Hill April 9. The band visited Oxford in January when they opened up for Brick Street's Gavin DeGraw performance. Now the group will be returning to headline their own show. According to Mike Hadgis, the entertainment and marketing manager for both Brick Street and 45 East, Ingram Hill's first performance went over extremely well. "The crowd had such a great response, we decided to bring them back to headline," Hadgis said. "We keep trying to bring in large bands to take advantage of the new sound system. We're expecting a very good crowd."Miami University sophomore Jeff Coffelt has seen the band perform three times."They bring about a high energy level," Coffelt said. "They have a really unique vibe."The band formed in 2000 when guitarist and vocalist Justin Moore and drummer Matt Chambless met at Memphis University. Guitarist Phil Bogard and vocalist and bass player Shea Sowell were eventually added, solidifying the group. Since its formation, Ingram Hill has played over 200 shows each year. They have hit the stage with other big names such as Saliva, Los Lonely Boys, Lifehouse, Maroon 5 and O.A.R. The band signed with Hollywood Records early in 2004, and re-released their album June's Picture Show last spring. With a unique musical style that has been described as southern pop, the band's first single, "Will I Ever Make It Home," appeared on the Billboard Adult Top 40 singles chart as well as the Radio and Records Hot AC Chart. The single was also included in the soundtrack to the movie 13 going on 30, a soundtrack that ranked number two on the Billboard Soundtrack chart. Their second single, "Almost Perfect," made its debut on the radio in February.
