There is hope though. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) profess to nominate Supreme Court justices who will uphold Roe v. Wade and Griswold v. Connecticut. They have promised to maintain access to family planning services and, by extension, keep birth control accessible and economical. Additionally, they plan to introduce comprehensive sex education, so that when students inevitably make the choice to have sex, they are fully informed of how to protect themselves and know the consequences of their actions. Under an Obama-Biden administration, women's rights will be protected and will be looked after in the future with Supreme Court justices who support women's rights. If Obama and Biden are in office, their policies would help women through accessible birth control and access to information in times of crisis. They are in touch with reality and not in a state of denial that there is no such thing as sex outside of marriage.

So why care? The president of the United States and his power over the Congress could ultimately overturn 50 years of progress for both women and men. Don't take for granted the ease we now have of buying contraceptives. Protect your rights and yourself through your vote in this election and remember: as the weekend and election draw near, that the pill you pop or condom you use could be your last.

Great article! I completely agree. I hope more women realize what damage would be done if McCain/Palin are in office. Please vote Obama!!
