Boehner stumps for McCain in Oxford

Boehner's attacks came as both candidates have moved on the offensive. Recent Obama TV spots have worked to show a connection between McCain and Bush and accuse McCain of "resorting to smears and false attacks" because he has "no plan to fix our economy."
McCain's recent advertisements have tagged Obama with badges like "dangerous" and "dishonorable" and say he is unprepared to be president.
Boehner has also recently introduced a Republican-backed economic stimulus plan as an alternative to the one House Democrats are expected to propose in November.
Boehner's stimulus package, outlined in a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), relies on lowering taxes in order to stimulate spending and investment. It would temporarily suspend the capital gains tax, increase the child tax credit from $1,000 to $2,000 and lower the corporate tax from 35 percent to 25 percent.
"I rely on allowing the American people to keep more of what they earn, to provide incentives to invest in our economy, to grow our economy, to create jobs and to help all Americans through that process," Boehner said. "All they want to do is just give money away to states and infrastructure projects that aren't ready, it will take so long for it to take any effect that it will have no effect."
The yet-to-be-unveiled Democrat-backed stimulus package was discussed by Pelosi in early October and is anticipated to invest heavily in state governments facing severe budget deficits and infrastructure projects.

Charlie, this is a great story. I am sure it was shocking to hear Boehner say the words he did. I am surprised that he said those things. Very well-written and it held my interest through the story. (Continued…)

I agree, good article Charlie, but MAN do I hate John Boehner! His recent television ad sums it up. He begins the add saying something to the extent of "democrats and their failed policies caused the economic crisis" and IMMEDIATELY follows that statement up with "Now's not the time to point fingers. Once again, we need to read the article. It said that Boehner called Obama a chicken, not a chickenshit. He called the idea of voting "present" chickenshit. (Continued…)

I was there as well and to be quite honest that wasn't the moment that stood out most to me. To be honest I'm not hard core Republican or Democrat but it seemed more like a joke than anything. (Continued…)

I agree with John Boehner. Being President means making those hard decisions, so why should Americans vote for someone who hasn't put their foot down and taken a strong stand against or for anything?
He went on and on about how it was unconstitutional to protect the lives of born alive babies, then when it came to vote, he pressed the "chicken" button. (Continued…)

Couldn't be more clear to me. Let's vote these Repubs out of office and start healing this country.

Those two students sound like complete morons. Oh wait. They're voting for the marxist/racist/anti-Semite candidate, so they are.
Why don't you two ask Barry why he has friends who are cop-killers?
And this newspaper is a complete disgrace. (Continued…)

exDemocrat is a fine example of what the problem is with Rep. Boehner as well. Marxist. Racist. Anti-Semitic. Nothing about issues, nothing about what Americans are having to deal with every single day. (Continued…)
